I thought you couldnt take provinces in a peace deal with this cb. Yet i was in a war with mamluks and they full annexed our enemy with that cb?

Unless they changed this, that's not true. There's just nothing about the CB that benefits annexing in comparison to other types of wars, especially generic claim fabrications.

Diplomatic Insult CB does not prevent any peace deal options. Following options have reduced cost (Revoke core, take Gold, Concede defeat, Humiliation) everything else has 100% cost.

You are thinking about the Humiliate Rival CB which disallows you from taking provinces and vassals.

The disabled options are marked with red, for example Trade War or Humiliate Rival has pretty much everything unavailable.
