Question about Reconquest CB, co-belligerents
- I have 2 vassals: Oman, that has cores in Hormuz, and Greece, that has cores in Ottoman Empire

- Ottoman Empire has guaranteed independence of Hormuz.

If I attack Hormuz with Reconquest CB, can I also return cores on Ottomans for cheap, or do I have to set them as co-belligerent, or not at all?

I want to get as much as possible from 1 war, feeding my vassals.

Question B:
If I separate peace the Ottomans as co-belligerent, can I use the Reconquest bonus on them?

They need to be co-belligerent otherwise it costs more.
And if you do a seperate peace you will be doing so under "no CB" rules.

Dont "return" provinces from the peace menu. Always give them control of the province and take it on the conquest page of the peace screen. It costs far less war score. You can do it via seperate peace. It will cost extra but due to them already having a core on it, it will still be rather cheap and not have much AE.

You gotta try it out

The peaceing rules are a bit cheesy

Thanks, will give it a try. Although actually Hormuz in my game is also guaranteed by Britain, so it would be too much investment for just a small gain at the moment. I wonder if they will ever withdraw their guarantee.

Hmm, from my experience once someone puts a guarantee on, they wont remove it. You can get around this by declaring on one of hormuz' allies. But *dont* make hormuz co belligerant. You can also mark britain as important (click one of their provinces, then right click their flag and mark as important or what ever the star is called) so you can see when they declare war etc. You may be able to attack hormuz at such a time where britain will refuse the CTA.

The way to eventually avoid someone placing a guarantee on someone is to make sure that a country has 0 borders with that country. Eventually that guarantee will go away, unless maybe for a scripted guarantee sort of like Mamluks on Cyprus at the start of the game; don’t think that one ever goes away unless Mamluks gets the event to make them a vassal. And to be safe also make sure that they don’t have borders sharing a sea tile either that may still cause them to guarantee them.

That's interesting, thinking of it, in my game Hormuz has a border with Great Britain on Brunei island (forgot name), where both have some random provinces. But I can't think of any borders of Hormuz and Ottomans.
