Kill Burgundy as France Help
The year is about 1450 in my game. I’ve already taken Province’s Mediterranean provinces, while obtaining Maine, Normandy, and the province north of Maine ( Can’t remember name ) from England bloke. I’m wondering what I should do with Burgundy, as they’ve weakened themselves significantly through a war with Provence ( they also have no heir!). That’s really the only issue I’m thinking about now, as I don’t know whether to trigger “The King of Burgundy Dies” by making him into delicious beef Burgundy for dinner, due to the fact Austria will certainly inherit lands as well. It may be reasonable to include I have some AE due to expansion. Any suggestions?

Well the Burgundian inheritance always gives like 3 or 5 provinces to france so there is that. AE shouldn't be a big issue, Burgundy is not a prince.

You can wait for Burgundian Succession Crisis but it is not quaranteed to happen. Even if it opos, France will only get few provinces and the rest goes to Austria, Castile or Some Random HRE Dude.

France can easily attack Burgundy since it is not part of HRE, only some of it's provinces are. You could make them release all 3 junior partners which gives no AE and makes next war much easier.

I didn't know you could do this but today in my France game I saw that it was possible for me to get elected emperor for the HRE so I started focusing on that in hopes to get elected. While I was waiting i decided to war Burgundy and during the war I was elected emperor and the succession crisis happened. All of Burgundy's land and vassals were intergrated into me. I became so powerful that it was hard for me to have any rivals for awhile.

^ Wow thats some cool luck

I played France again after reading this thread since its been a long time, i did rather well but barely had any luck besides Inheriting the 6 provinces from Burgundy.

Dont forget to culture convert all "dutch" provinces, since you will get huge rebel stacks later on when Netherland appears
