Hannover's unique ideas

Interestingly, Hannover appears to have their own ideas now. The last time I had checked, they simply had German traditions which made the decision of forming them or Westphalia generally a matter of preffered map aesthetics.

I'm currently just blobbing a bit as Hamburg and plan to remain a republic so I wish to form Hannover - would one recomend that I switch ideas when forming Hannover or stick to my roots?

Current idea groups are trade, defence, and innovative.

since you are planning to stay a republic, hamburgs ideas with the yearly rep. tradition and idea cost would be my pick over hanover's mostly economic ideas. the dicipline and cav ability are nice, but can be picked up through ideas to compensate. just my opinion, perhaps hanover's ideas would suit your style better.

Yeah, it seems that taking Hannover's ideas would be forfeiting rather large economic bonuses (like larger navy for more trade ships) as well as the rep. tradition for a minor military boost. And as for staying a republic, the form Hannover decision doesn't change your government type - the default government type on the wiki is the government it starts with when you set the start date 1692 (or whenever Hannover first exists) or later
