There's no motivation to conquest Constantinople as Russia.

Wtf. There's no economic motivation to wage war against Ottomans for their capital. For Crimea - yes, Constantinople - no. Its trade node doesn't connected to Russian trade network. Meanwhile, historically Russians wanted to conquer it to get access to the Mediterranean Sea and boost their trade. If they played EU4, they wouldn't get the same desire for Constantinople. The only benefit of having it is to reduce turkish trade power in Crimea, which is already dominated by Russia after Crimea conquest.
The only thing left is mission to get it and it feels quite articial and forced.
PARADOX MAKE CONSTANTINOPLE DESIRABLE FOR RUSSIA. Maybe it's better to connect Constantinople and Kiev node(another reason for Ottomans to be truculent towards Russia) or add its area to Crimea trade node after conquest idk.
Btw why Ragusa node exists. Noone wants it ever. Instead expand Vienna, Krakow and Kiev.

Why don't you put your capital/trade city in constantinople? You can collect in Novgorod and/or Kazan. When there is no competition, you still get 100%. Boom, now you collect on two routes at the same time.

Realistically the Ottomans are normally the only significant threat to late game Russia, and conquering Constantinople heavily cripples them. So the motivation to take the city isn't economic - it's military, since it's an indication that Russia has achieved military supremacy. These are also desirable lands to conquer since most of the surrounding territory is orthodox, making it much easier to control.

What';s a little forced is when Russia then rushes off to take Rome in order to pick up another achievement :D.

Why do you say that?

Just collect at Constantinople. Look at the trade map, and use that to decide what provinces you want. I don't take provinces to make my map look pretty. I take provinces for strategic and economic reasons. Don't forget about port and trade center upgrades.

There's always the pure RP of it, which was enough for me. If that's not enough, do as others have suggested and conquer the surrounding Orthodox territories, then stick a collection merchant there. It won't be as much cash as the Ottomans get out of it, but you'll still be pulling in a big chunk of Middle Eastern trade.

Especially since Ottomans usually develop it to around 40-60 by the time you get down there.

Just like Venice has to eat the habsburger, so should you and take that nice ke... city. It´s not only about rolepaying, Istanbul and Anatolia are very rich. Plus I´m going for achievements in my current Muscowy game, and to get all silk I WILL have to fight the turks anyway.

Might as well role-play and remove that ugly green thing.
