Mewar questions
Hi together,

I am currently playing Mewar and have some questions.
It is only my second game in India ever (first was Vijayanagar->Bharat) and maybe some of you have more experience in that region.

My goal for this game are the two Mewar achievements and conquer most of China/Indochina/Indonesia as well as East Africa, so far away from WC.

1) Mewar or Rajputana Ideas? They both look good (if I would go for WC probably Rajputana for CCR but when not going for WC?). And later change to Bharat Ideas or not?
2) Do I need Religious or Humanist if I mainly stay in all-Hindu India and East Asia?
3) Are Trade Ideas viable for the additional merchants? With my main node in Gujarat I can control most trade by steering in Coromandel and Lahore. (Or are South/East Africa TC merchants enough?)
4) Any good nations on the Indian borders with good idea sets to be marched?
5) Does the Parliament Reform disable Rajput Estate (as it is my Nobility Estate)
6) Should I concentrate my Rajput Regiments in one army or divide them over all armies?

1) Both are decent - I believe the general consensus is that Mewar ideas are better for multi-player, whilst Rajputana ideas are better for WC. Both will be fine for what you want.

2) You want one or the other or you will have stability issues due to lack of religious unity. You probably don't need both.

3) Trade ideas are somewhat viable - the problem is that they are competing with other idea groups that are arguably better, such as exploration, diplo, influence and possibly even espionage. If you control India then money is unlikely to be the limiting factor on your expansion, so other idea groups might be better.

4) Maybe Nepal? I know a lot of Indian nations tend to be far more trade focused than you. Sindh is regarded as one of the most important vassals in the game if going for one-faith, but it doesn't sound like that's your aim.

5) In my Mewar game I stayed as a Monarchy. However whilst playing as Bengal I swapped to a republic and still had a Rajput estate, so I presume the same would hold for Mewar

6) It's not important

Mewar is a fun nation to play. I know in my game the hardest part of the achievements was pushing discipline high enough - so you might want to consider that when picking idea groups.

You have to actually be Mewar to get the first achievement (the one for having a bunch of rajput units) so you need to complete it before forming any other nation. For the second one you have to not use a random new world and if you form Bharat/Hindustan you can't choose the new ideas as that also changes the missions making you unable to complete the Mewar/Rajputana missions.

Note that in both cases you need to have the Dharma DLC enabled.

I believe you cannot change to Bharat until after you get the Mewar Never Changes achievement since it is a tier 1 mission tree.

Because Rajputana shares the Mewar mission tree, you can do this switch before getting the achievement.

I found this a very fun and relaxing run. You do not need to do any high speed conquering at all. Here is my screenshot:

This is correct. The information on the Wiki is wrong.

I got tripped up by the "must use historical new world" thing so I only got the Maharana Pratap achievement. :/

I understand it being needed for the English and Spanish mission tree achievements but I really don't see Mewar having missions to settle the new world so didn't even think about it.
