How do I assign a Holy Order?

I'm Spain, and one of my missions is to set some regions of Mexico to a Holy Order. I checked the wiki but I don't find it. Any way to do it step by step?

go to the states section

left clic on a province and type 's' hotkey. bottom of tab you will see the 3 holy order buttons.

I don't see it. I only see it from my direct provinces, but the Mexico I have is part from a colony of mine (like a vassal). What do I do?

The dude above said it already. Select a province and go into the state section.

I know exactly your problem because I had it too. You also probably don't have the option to expel minorities.

Increase your resolution

EDIT: Hold on wait I didnt look at screenshot; the state has to be MADE. The flag has to have a big X On it and have been stated.

Yes I have all expansions, including the Golden Century. I'm aiming to do all Spanish missions.

I am playing in the latest version.

And I can't make the state of Mexico because I don't have Mexico. One of my colonies do, but not me.

Sorry for res-ing an old thread but I was searching for the answer to this too and couldn't work it out.

I don't know about SILICA IN SOCIETY's game, but I realised the reason I couldn't access Holy Orders in the states screen is because I switched Spain to Protestant! It took me an embarrassing length of time to work this out.

Well, I switched Castille to Prot. Spain came later. I should have checked ideas and missions and stuff before I guess. It's my first game okay?! ;)

Can I assign an order if the colonial nation already exists? Because, one can only assign orders in states. But when I form a state in the New World, it won´t form a colonial nation.

Forming states has 0 impact on CNs. CNs will form once you own 5 cores in a colonial region.
