States general
Can a states general hold PU's? I am playing as Spain and changed candidates and held my PU's but then noticed they had heirs of my former dynasty, so when I choose my next candidate will they break away with these heirs as kings?

So I would lose my PU's then?

Welp sry dont know about republics - can only tell you that turning Sunni with a PU lets you keep it but makes it impossible to integrate ;)

If you have negative relations with your PU when your ruler changes (by death, election, event, ...) the PU automatically ends.

If you have positive relations you keep the PU.

Using this government form is real interesting for PUs. Because A) you can marry which means PUs are very much possible though because you can change dynasties at any moment theoretically it can be tricky if you don’t get lucky enough during a particular ruler’s lifetime to get that house on their throne. And B) because you technically also have republic mechanics it means that after 50 years of a union is through you can theoretically inherit your junior partner any time you have a new election unless I am mistaken.
