EU4 Won't let me change the settings or the refresh rate. HELP!

I changed the graphical settings to max, and then EU4 became incredibly laggy. I had to go into the settings txt. doc and change it manually. This change took effect but Eu4 continues to run at around 4fps. I can enter the game and start up a game, but I cannot change the resolution or the refresh rate within the game. HELP!

Delete the settings.txt file in folder
Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV
Removing the file will reset all setting to default.

It´s a shame that a customer needs help from another customer to fix a problem via deleting a file.

This post is rather old. What problem do you have exactly? AFAIK the refresh rate setting in eu4 has not worked properly for some time. The best way to change the refresh rate is to use borderless fullscreen and then set the refresh rate in your OS

My previous reply was for someone who has manually edited settings.txt file and by accident messed up something. Then deleting the file will reset all game settings to default.

If the game runs always poorly or has never properly launched, deleting the file has no real effect. Without knowing what the problem might be it is kind of difficult to suggest meaningful solutions.
