What is best ideas to play Castile(Spain)?

I once played Spain but it was some 2 YEARS AGO :-) i even formed Spain but forgot how to do this, the only things that i remeber was the "Iberian Wedding" that u started several saves to get it

But it was yaers ago, so can you reccomend me how to ply it?

You're closest to America (kind of, if you eat Portugal), so colonise.

Do not ally Portugal, just eat them.Restart to a game where you can ally France and then wait for Iberian Wedding.Then get exploration and expansion ideas.Then religious and conquer the Maghreb.

Better vassalize portugal as they will help you colonize. Colinization is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow in early game so getting portugal help. Then conquer Maghreb sea shore as those berber muslim countries would often raid your coast. Attacking france in early game is quite difficult but definitely worth it.
Just colonize and expand your empire overseas. Involve little in europe internal wars. You will highly rely on mercenary to fight in late game as gold from america and trade goods from whole world would grant you plenty of money
