Convert to protestant and being the largest nation gives you league war leader, which will make you emperor once the war is won.
Another way is Vassalize 1 elector and just blob the whole of HRE and other catholics, no1 will be left but you. <3
Being Protestant Leader does not guarantee being elected when the war is over. It can happen (especially in case of a human Protestant leader) but every eligible nation could theoretically be elected.
The two options are:
- Vassalize/PU enough Electors (four to be sure but depending on the situation less may be sufficient). Note that it is very hard (as a non Emperor) to get votes of independent Electors if you have already subjected two or more Electors
- Improve relations with enough Electors (alliance, RM, guarantee, gift, ...) and try not to anger them (AE, alliance to rivals, ...). It is quite possible to get elected this way without vassalizing any Elector.
Oh?
How does that work there are no electors. I've only done league war under Protestant as protestant 3 times. All 3 times I got emperorship. Granted, in the case of regency etc I assume an emperor would be chosen top to bottom?
This is usually with having massive AE
The other times I've helped or just watched protestants win, usually the war leader AI also gets emperor. Wiki doesn't say much about who gets elected after league war so I only go off what I've seen :3
I'm not really planning to play in europe until the patch comes out for it. I'll keep an eye out if i do see any non leader gaining emperorship tho. Assuming they are eligible to begin with.
Not sure how it works, but it just happened to me. Playing France, helped Protestants with Brandenburg as leader. Emperor-ship went to 2PM Cologne after.
Fun fact: if protestant league is won, if none have the criteria to be emperors, the HRE gets disbanded.
