@chet its automatic with the update. EU4 is now 64bit from this patch forwards. Anyone wanting 32bit will have to stay on previous versions.

Honestly, I doubt you will notice any change.
Maybe not in vanilla, but I have noticed a MASSIVE change late game with mods like Beyond Typus that add huge numbers of provinces and AI countries....the increased processing capability allowed by not being restricted to 4Gb of ram results in a much more consistent speed across the entire span of the game...also, no more year end tick lag is glorious
That sounds great :)
Are you running the game on really capable hardware or on cheaper PC? Just trying to figure out who will benefit most from it.
...do you really wanna know? (I went a bit overboard with my last bday rebuild)
i7-7820x overclocked to 4.3Ghz
64Gb ram @ 3200Mhz
Rampage VI extreme mobo
dual 1080Ti poseidons
I've never had any issues with early game, but even late game I was getting a ton of lag on monthly and year end ticks. it definitely runs better as 64-bit
Seriously, 64 GB of RAM?... I am still at 8.
Like I said, I went a tad bit overboard.
On that note, now is a pretty good time to buy more RAM if you're looking to upgrade. The market has kind of tanked because the manufacturers over estimated gamer's demand, so i was able to get the 64Gb last month for only about $75 more than what I paid for 32Gb 2 years ago
Since version 1.29 (the current version is 1.30) EU4 is 64bit only.
