Is there a way to buy a province?

I know how to sell one, but is there a way to buy one? There's an annoying Austrian province that prevents my territory from being contiguous, but they're an ally. It would be nice if we could reach an agreement. I thought about marking it as a province of interest hoping that could enable the AI to offer it but I'm assuming that would be seen as a hostile move instead.

There is not, certain ruler personalities might offer to sell it to you, but chances are really low.

Diplomatic system, despite being better than most other strategy games, still has some severe lacks :P

It's almost never worth it to sell a province so giving an option for the player to push the issue either be a completely broken mechanic that'd break the game or have such skewed prices that it becomes a multiplayer only feature like offer loan.

I've used it to get rid of provinces I didn't want to take provinces in a war because the AI war leader thought I had the Adm for 5 provinces and lots of AE ;/
