Native Assimilation
Seems like Native assimilation is fairly weak in this game. Tried maxing out permanent modifiers, but you can only get a +185%, counting Clergy bonuses and custom ideas. Not much when native count is divided by 20,000 to get the Goods Produced modifier.

Most New World provinces will have between 500 and 3000 natives present. Assuming you don't kill them, that's going to be an expected .15 extra Goods Produced modifier for the 3,000-native province. That's not even one full dev. What you're more likely to encounter are provinces that only have 1,500 Natives, and only net you half as much, so even with the full bonuses, you're looking at an extra 1 diplo dev's worth of Goods Produced. This is something that'll get drowned out by manufactories anyway.

I know most Goods Produced modifiers will be focused on the Trade Company regions, but there really aren't enough colonizable provinces there for the bonus to shine. Most of your profit will still come from conquered Provinces, as there are simply far more of them in the east.

Suggestion: Have more natives in the American provinces, make natives capable of recovering from purges, make them more aggressive if your capital isn't in the new world, and allow the Native assimilation bonus to apply if you diplo-annex a native tribe. This solves the problem of players being able to mindlessly throw colonies out without any of the resistance you'd see in Trading Companies. Looking back to the founding of America, you can see that there was plenty of resistance to the colonists, and colonies were far from safe. Natives were constantly fighting them (which is why local militias were so prevalent), and learning from them was the key to surviving and thriving in America.

You only mentioned the base tho - with a +150% assimilation it would be already +0.375 for 3000 natives.

That's the thing. That's great, but it's exceptionally rare in the Americas.

...and with 1500 natives its 0.187 which is basically 1 dev. Seems good enough to me.

Bah. Whatever.

Buffing this would make Castille/portugal a bit too stronk? Since those 2 are the ones that mostly colonize 70% of the new world.

Pretty sure they don't stack Native Assimilation bonuses by default. Also, if England manages to vassalize/annex Scotland and get a PU over France, he ends up automatically winning the game from the start.

That never happens though. Unless its a player playing england vs ai.
Even then portugal and castile usually colonize faster and most of americas.

Even then, that just gives countries more reason to take those provinces by force.

Most countries can't really afford fights vs portugal/castile. So how would they take it by force?
This buff would only benefit the human player.

By telling their colonies to declare war for the provinces. Alternatively, waiting until the target country's overlord is in a bad spot, then forcing him into a war against you.

Doubt they gonna have much problems when you're giving them extra income.
You're thinking too much of Player vs ai.
Not one bit considering AI vs AI and player vs player.

Telling your colony to start the war means that interference will require an offensive war against you and your allies, so it should be fine for PVP.

Also, I guess making Colonizers try to get more land through Colonial wars makes sense. Seems like it should come with extra challenges and incentives so the AI actually participates.

All this work for what? So you get more ducats?
Ducats are hardly an issue to gain.
There are better things devs could be working on.

As you said, Castille and Portugal tend to dominate the New World entirely. This changes that. It also means South America can be more than just a bunch of empty 1/1/1 provinces that're only good for manufactories. If they change the Exploration-Expansion Policy, it can mean natives actually remaining a threat, and us having to interact with the ferocity-aggression modifiers.

How does it change it?
If they already dominate it, with more goods it won't affect anything.

AI is immune to native uprising during colonization. Natives are never a threat to the ai.
Player can choose no uprising policy+buffs or stick few men around since natives are poo and are dealt with just 1k infranty.

Colonies are just an alternative to earn money for some countries. The last thing we need is to give portugal/castile more coin early on. They already got plenty of buffs.
