Strategy for France

Hello guys. I recently started to play eu4 again. I wrote a review about the game back in 2014 and today I read it in tears while laughing. I'm addicted to it now and want to play as France. We will play a multiplayer game with my friend who will pick Castile.

First question is; which dlcs do we need to enjoy the game at maximum?

2) strategy for France's solo play. I always play Muscovy cuz it's so easy to rule and those manpower buffs

So I need tips, tricks and strategies for France.

Oh man, big blue blob, pretty much the big infinite manpower blobs go France, Kebab, Muscovy
I'd recommend Common Sense, Rights of Man, Cossacks and Mare Nostrum

the only tip i can give you is,that when nearly at the start the war with england breaks out you should have your army near the beaches so you can stackwipe their entire army when they come ashore. Also dont try to fight englands navy.

Pretty much ally catille and papal state, then remove england from france, fight Burgundy and remove them from the map with acouple of wars vassal brittany, and start pushing into italy.

Regularly expand your development if you can but do so balanced so you increase wealth but more importantly increase manpower, however do so only while you are ahead in tech and prioritise Idea's before new development if you must choose.
Use estates to maximise use of development by assigning them to newly conquered territories as they ignore autonomy for respective categories.

I'd recommend focusing mostly within europe but for your third idea group i'd recommend expansion idea's and stealing maps from castille and portugal to colonise north america

Actually it's so confirmable to confirm this confirmation. They formed a coalition against me then I let them leave the coalition one by one.

Thanks for all the answers. Colonization seems hard because I can't reach anywhere before the buff that I get from diplo's level 10(+125 colonial range I guess) and I really hate Scotland. They don't do sh.t.. Got castile, ottomans, poland and portugal on my side as allies because it's my first time.

Should be super easy since your buddy is Castile, with his navy and your navy should be on par to destroy England fleet. All you really need to do is to catch England fleet while they are separated so you can destroy them in small groups at a time. Then without England fleet, you can start landing them troops into England. Get all your france core land back and grab one land in England as a foothold for the next war.

What the deuce? I just got the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ province and Austria attacked me with a coalition :D

Thank god I had Ottomans, Poland and pretty much all of the big guys in the world on my side and won the fight.. Damn this Austria...

Yeah, caution with Austria when it comes to land fighting in Europe Austria and their wife Hungary are the biggest players

What you do is

1. get a lot of cash
2. waste cash on army
3. ????
4. Profit

Something like that, beating Autria and Hungary is more about politics than anything, fighting them directly is near suicide and leting the Turk grab land in the balkens to fight Austria and Hungary seems almost worse

litreally the only thing you need to worry about as france is england and austria . No other country can beat you well i guess burgandy could...But doubtfulL as france you will want to colonize as well .Trust me the amount of money you make is amazing when you colonize . Try to take cuba and dominican republic. They have alot of coco and spices i belive also colonize land with beaver fur and spices and coco those are the money makers.

also ally with castile and try to intergrate them. And finnaly get defense and offensive for france with those two you litreally can do anything as france.
