Becoming leader of the protestant league?
Hey folks,

Does anybody know how to become leader of the protestant league? I need this for the lion of the north achievement.

BTW it is not affected by prestige cause I got the most prestige,
It is not affected by military because I have the biggest military,
Im at peace,
And I have the highest development.

The only thing im lacking is tech but thats combinend only 3 levels. 2 for admin and 1 for military.

This is truly a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ system cant wait for the $50 dlc to fix it...

Last I heard is that it's based on development. You need a certain amount more than the current leader, with Electors of the Empire getting an additional bonus (so if the current leader is an elector you'd need a whole lot more).

Do keep in mind that in addition to being at peace you also must not have a truce with the current Emperor as well, so maybe that's what's preventing it for you?

But since you just want to get it for the achievment, check the in-game achievment tracker. If I remember correctly in one of the recent patches it was changed so that you need only be a member of the Protestant League, not the leader.

the largest protestant HRE elector is the leader if available.

You only have to be apart of the league to get it.

Thanks for the reactions guys, development would be pretty strange seeing as I have 600 and Bohemia has 150. And the wiki keeps stating that I need to lead it. Maybe they patched it and its now no longer possible to earn the achievement without being the leader?

Ive never done it myself, and im not sure if it is still doable, but ive read about a trick
No more applicable to your game, but well...

Just set up a pause for the event of league creation

First one to join catho league will be Emperor (usually Austria) and this will set the game to pause.
Join immediatly protestant side (you will be alone, so leader...) and declare while on pause.

You will have of course to fight and win against Emperor + allies
