Really Tiny Text and Menus

For some reason, every time I play my game the text and menus are very small and hard to read. No matter what resolution I'm in. I uploaded a screenshot (I think; I haven't been able to find it). Don't know what's happening, and I'd upload an image here if I knew how.

By the way forgot to mention: 3840x2160 is the only resolution that gives me a full screen game. Otherwise, it's a tiny rectangle in the middle of my screen, surrounded by blackness.

Oh, and today was the first time this ever happened. Until now, the game has functioned fine. I did have a massive windows update yesterday. Go figure.

Try to delete the settings.txt in documents / paradox / eu4
A fresh default one will be created next launch.

Or you can manually edit it if you want.

Set your desktop resolution to something a little lower before even opening up the game.

Honestly, I think the recent Windows Update was responsible. Any way I can delete it?

Perhaps you have messed with full screen / windowed full screen / windowed option.

There is also the GPU logiciel which can be set to override video games settings (AA, force non supported resolutions etc)

Native game resolution is 1920 1080, just in case.

I have no idea what a GPU logiciel thing is, but I know I'm not in windowed mode or anything. Just tried 1920x1080, and it's just a small window in the middle of my screen with a bunch of black surrounding it.

As you can see (hopefully) the icons and text and menus are ridiculously tiny compared to what they used to be.

Yep, you are in 3840x2160 or something big like that instead of 1920x1080

Have you tried windowed fullscreen 1920 1080 ?


The GPU logiciel is the logiciel coming with the GPU driver (Crimson for AMD, dont know about NVidia)
Those progams can be set to totally override games video settings, forcing a resolution for example, meaning no matter what you change in game options, it wont work.
They also come with all sorts of scaling for the screen display.

I tried the windowed fullscreen, but it didn't work. And how can I use that logiciel to help?

If you have geoforce experience its in there under your games.
From memory an option to use recommended nvidia settingd for your game/games.

Geoforce keeps popping up error messages when I try to connect. Maybe I'll just uninstall and reinstall.
