how to be leader of Protestant league in HRE?

currently Bohemia is the leader,tryint to get achievement of Sweden Lion of North.win the religious war as portestant leader.I am protestant but dont know how to be leader over Bohemia

You dont need to be the actual leader for that achievement last I checked, just be part of the Protestant league and end the war by enforcing religious peace.

oh yeah,it says start as sweden and lead protestant league to the victory.I assumed it means be leader of protestant league but it actually isnt

It is s lot more tricky if you are not the war leader:
1. You cannot decide when or even if to declare religious war.
2. You cannot enforce religious unity unless you are war leader. You have to hope for a big fat victory and not a close call so the AI leader can enforce what you want.

It used to be that if the Protestant leader got into a separate war, that nation ceased being the leader. Then, the strongest Protestant nation currently at peace took over leadership. Don't know if this is still true in the latest patch.

When I did this one (long ago, though), I simply stayed at peace for a decade or so and eventually became leader. It made the achievment far easier to actually accomplish.

in my case I have Ottomans,Russia,France in catholic league,Have no idea how to win the war,+ bohemia is the leader and doing pertty decent so wont declare war either

You are doomed. Restart is your main option at this point

You want Austria as catholic leader so the Ottos and France will join the Protestant League.

yeah I figured.they all joined catholic cuz they are my rivals,and I am protestant. Austria was weak till beginning so big nations werent their rivals

Do you think I could still win if I had PU over england? if I push a bit harder.I have bohemia poland Spain as allies.

Well, England barely helps on the European mainland, even under a PU. At best, you can get some minor warscore with embargoes.

If you could flip the Ottos, you would have a great chance. But if you are already rivaled, then you have a problem.

France > Spain
Ottomans > Poland
Russia = Sweden
Austria > Bohemia (usually)

You have to crush the opposing league to get the religious enforcement option, and I cannot see doing that here. Possibly if you were the leader, there would be a slight chance. But Bohemia will peace out long before the war score builds high enough.

In fact, I think the AI will simply not ever declare war and the Peace of Westphalia will trigger.

I actually recall not getting it on my first try for many of the same reasons as your game. So I learned on the restart and got France and Ottomans happy with me. I breezed though it after that.

dont even count England as any support,they have 100% disloyalty russia is supporting them.I could break france through 1 land scotland since france is guaranting them. at least one war ,and at the end of it I could declare war on russia and france wouldnt come to war since already with me in war.and finish easy war with scotland and take lands from russia in following war.but then still ottomans are problem.yeah I would need at least 100-150 years to be strong and break france russia to win religious war.

Also, peace deals do not count in the religious war. Even if you and Bohemia have a peace deal with France and Russia, they will still join the war against you.

England does a bit more nowadays than they used to. Theyre best in longer wars as they dont do much early on in wars. But after awhile they do join in.

I was part of the war as Protestant Sweden and we won,didnt get achievement,it says need to be leader.

All the code says is that you must have the proper flag.

1. It does not say you have to be leader, but it could be embedded deeper in the flag code.

yeah we did,England was the leader,I was in as Protestant and Was protestant as well,we enforced emperors religion also Empires official religion. and it says was leader of protestant league next to red cross. means I had to be leader.what about flag sorry didnt get? are you joking about flag or.what can I do about flag?
