Your problem is you made them a March. From what you iomplied and my understanding once you make them a March your options with them are almost zero outside they will always ride or die for you. I have released many a nation using that button on the bottom of the tab, and I don't remember a stability drop.

Since you can't do homework (thinking you can release a march, hahaha!) wonder how classless you were to those people for actually telling you something wrong and lookin dumb, and someone with 600 hrs didn't know either. (see above) Also if you want to be a Slag, and have no class. Here is the homework you could of done (see below) with out asking for other people perspective. If there is one game you will never know everything about it is going to be a paradox game.

Braking vassalage should only affect your opinion/truce, so the stability hit is from revoking the march which I knew.
per my post. If you can use that button to release a nation it does not cause a stability issue. Doing anything to march other than leaving them alone and them coming to war with you = Stability and a HUGE opinion hit.
When does school start for you?
Also your SUBJECT LINE IS INCORRECT. It should read how do I properly break away from my vassals. Client state is when you relase your territory to a country that historically is a de jure.
I always say in this type of discussion "i'm sorry, i explained myself in a bad way. Let me rephrase the question", but i feel i don't like you. So thanks for your stupid response and have a good day sir.
