Q, Poland vs moldavia

Im still a newbe with this game so..

As poland im trying to get the common wealth to go and im almost done i think. just a view more scrapes of what used to be the Teutonic Order.

I just have this march vasal Moldavia and i have no clue what to do with it. i would like to absorbe it like the others i had but what would be a smart move?

Also in the south there are 4 othodox provinces and my misionary has -1.3% chance to convert them to the states religion. How would you in crease the chance to some positive procentage.

Well, Moldavia is a march and you cant absorb marches, you need to revoke the march so they will be a vassal again, but that comes with huge negative relations, - 100 i guess. Thats why you want to do this exactly at the beginning of the game.

The orthodox provinces are a pain in the ass early on, you cant really do much about it. The best advise i could give you, is being in a war when the rebels pop up, so your allys/vassals/but mainly lithuania deal with them instead of you. After you get the Religion Idea or Humanism Idea it shouldnt be a problem anymore. I go with Religion usually, so you can later convert the provinces of Lithuania and of course, the Ottomans.

Edit: Revoke March should be a diplomatic option, dont know if you need DLCs, but i doubt it.

You can keep Moldavia as a march for a while.
In fact, it is quite great to have a march acting as a buffer with Ottomans while you deal with more urgent matters.

Ottomans will be less agressive toward you, and in case of war, they will have to deal with your subject first.
Plus, lets face it, those 2 provinces in direct control wont add much to you, compared to some free armies and an inconditionnal ally.
You can even feed it some provinces to make it more useful.

Later, when you no more need it, revoke and annex.
Revoking makes marches quite unhappy and comes with a stab hit, unless you have the diplo idea full (then, it is almost free)


As Poland, you will have to deal with multiple religions (all sorts of christians + islam), so either you choose humanist or religious to keep nation stability in check.

You will be able to convert later, with some modifiers, right advisor, right policy or state edict, better stability etc.
If you cant convert now, dont bother too much.
Still check religious unity, you dont want it too low.

You can always absorb the other Romanian-culture provinces in Wallachia (and I think Hungary has some too?) into your march. As long as you're still big enough (and if you're forming the Commonwealth, you're plenty big enough), they'll be grateful and much better able to help you against your large neighbors.

I have absorbed the Teutonic Order, Silesia and Mazovia and got a province from Pomerania

and I am allies with Lithuania, Brandenburg and Livonian order. all prity loyal except for brandenburg. (pore kid has a lot of strugles )

Muscovey tried to attack Livonia but we just slauthered them in return and now they seemd to have some rebel probles for decades.
Austria used to lead Hungary and Bohemia, but the alliance fell apart after it tried to attack france wich provoked the Ottomans and Venice.

Wallacha has be come a vasal of the Ottomans, and it wont be long untill they are absorbed too. D:

So i gues hungary will be next on the blob list, prepairing for the ottomans and the liberation of the Balkans

ps, I got a random event i gues where my priest got a 1% boost to conversion, so my nation is one religion.

Any advice is very welcome...(im still pretending to know what im doing)

Poland is quite open ended anyway in how you play.

Your natural enemies are Russia / Muscovy and Ottomans.
Hungary can be ally or enemy, or ally against Ottomans (to backstab later)

HRE, it depends.
Either you mostly ignore, you ally, you eat it slowly or you plan to become emperor.
Austria and Bohemia are weak in your game, so there is a card to play there.

There is also eventually trade to consider, the Pomerania + Lubeck area could open a way better trade node, especially if you put your hands on the Novgorod one too (but you will make new enemies...)

Keep in mind, protestantism will pop soon and there will be quite a change in alliances into the HRE + Scandinavia area.

Anyway, providing you keep strong in military, Poland / Commonwealth is a monster, just beware of coalitions (HRE + Russia + Ottomans can be quite punishing)
