How do I get independent as Sweden?
I've read lots of guides but all of them seem outdated..
Does anyone have tips or a guide/strat to actually get indepedent as Sweden?

Have you got Conquest of Paradise or El Dorado? As either will let a country support your independence.
(If you haven't just wait as there's going to be a sale soon as they are going to be releasing another dlc)

Just ask countries that don't like Denmark for support

Build galleys, wait until Denmark starts a war, don't help (in fact never ever help), occupy Skane, block strait with fleet, congrats.

The easiest way - ask Poland or England for independent (England almost always starts with Denmark as rival). Or even ask help from Muscovy - but that is a bit cheating lol.

The moderate way - build galleys ( I think 15 should be enough) and try to move your troops from one island to another. If you do it fast enough taht you can block Danish army in Gotland, you will not need help from anyone else. However, watch out for Norwegian fleet - I think they start with 3 carracks.

The funniest way - do nothing and wait until the Danish king dies. Normally the relationships between nations are low enough to get independence.

Hope this helps.

How is the moderate way any easier than the funniest way?

sorry to say but you really need the El Dorado DLC to become independent from the Kalmar union

Just declare war and win, that's what I've always done.

Although there is a slight problem these days. Denmark often allies muscovy right after start. Curiious why anyone hasnt mentioned them yet, quite a gamechanger for a swedish start. And trapping denmarks troops on gotland while they are sieging down their rebel fort is more effective than the strait at the start

True, but the alliance with Muscovy is not enough, Denmark also seems to refuse taking land from Novgorod, to not piss of Muscovy, but only when the player is Sweden. Denmark also chooses weird rivals that wont rival Denmark back, which makes it exponentially harder to get someone relevant to support your independence.

In my last game as Sweden, i had to wait until 1550 to get the "perfect" situation for an attack. Denmark was in a war and Muscovy finished one just now and wouldnt help Denmark. So with my two supporters England and Castille (lol), i attacked Denmark. What happened? Denmark immediately peaced out from their other war, called ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Muscovy in and none of my supporters cared to help at all. I wasted 100 years developing my nation only to lose anyway.

What exactly am i supposed to do? I dont want to wait 200 years to break the PU and finally do something on my own, especially because Muscovy would already be the greatest of threats. Sweden should be able to attack in the first 50 years with the possibility to actual win, but that seems to be bound to luck now, the hope of Lithuania not getting under a PU.

Glad I'm not only one. I tried couple of times and IIRC Muscovy allied Denmark both times. A thing to note is that AFAIK troops can pass through blockaded strait if both sides of it are owned, meaning Unless you manage to siege Lund down really fast, they can always move from Lund to Sjaelland. AI seems to have some algorithms to make it at least bit harder to start opportunistic wars, once I attacked Poland when they were at war with Ottomans. They immediately gave Ottomans two provinces and proceeded to beat me back. Being Muscovy I survived with the help of Russian winter but still had to pay them handful of ducats.

Well, then you are basically f.ucked. I would suggest to try another nation until you have some dlc to make a sweden campagne worthwhile.
