Thank you for replying.
See, I've read earlier comments where players alledge that Paradox balances the game in favour of those who own the latest DLC. I simply wanted to get an opinion, so thank you again.
Grant.
The dlcs are balanced around multiplayer. The base game is balanced around single player.
a lot of dlc features have little impact on single player experience beyond some small tweaks or more complexity but can be complete meta game-changers in multiplayer.
Thank you, guys!
warrented some of this confusion though comes from the fact that EU4 has evolved A LOT in the last year and half, which some people are having trouble adapting to the changes going from a shallow base game that required no thought or strategy and needed dlcs to give it depth, to a deceptively complex and deep strategy base game, that people are having trouble adjusting to when the dlcs pile even more mechanics on top.
DLCs are meant to be purcahsed ala carte, be cause it adds something you want or enhances a playstyle you enjoy. You should generally never own all the dlcs unless you are a fanatic who simply cannot get enough of the game and just want more and more and more.
However, Plato, I have no "issue". I was just wondering how important the latest DLC was to the whole EUIV experience.
Also, it's always fun to see people with level 0 private profiles coming and calling others "newbies" and "stupid" for asking questions.
Sorry, I didn't mean you had an issue. I thought your post was stemming from the 'issue' others were making.
