How do you give away provinces?

So me and my friend are playing together, I play as England and he plays as France.
We are working together (may seem easy but I'm noob :D) . Is there any way I can give him a province without having to sell it, or is that something you can only do with a certain DLC?

1. If he has a core on that province, there is a "Return Core" button on the province interface. However, if more than one country has a core there you have no control over who gets it.
2. You could declare a war on him and then surrender the provinces that way.
3. You could just sell them, even for 0 ducats if you want.

No matter how you do it, you're going to lose Prestige.

Ok thanks, was hoping there was a way you did not lose any prestige.

If you have the Cossacks DLC, there's another option without sacrificing prestige:
Vassalize France and transfer the provinces via Subject Interaction. Then just wait out the truce and release him as a free nation.

France is too big unless they use the restoration of union event.

He's playing together with a friend, who controls France. He can just offer vassalisation to him and everything going work out just fine.

Frane's development is too high to be able to do that is it not? I thought it was locked out at over a certain development level.

Yeah, you're right... I forgot about the 100 development rule. The button would probably be grayed out, even if a player controls France.

Well, too bad for the OP. Looks like he does have to spend the prestige after all...
