What idea groups are ideal for Korea?

Colonizing the the area south of you is only worth it if you can control a trade node it flows into which means conquest past ming. So I generally wouldn't bother with colonization and focus on ideas that lets you conquer more/faster.

You don't need to conquer past Ming. Put a colony in one of the Indonesian islands and buthcher everyone there, voila! The best trade node in the area is yours.

Well, the way you worded it made me think you need to fight Ming head on.

Take exploration to get to those little nations in indonesia or whatever it's called, if Ming takes a lot of time to lose mandate of heaven you can focus on that area first.
Other than that, nothing is really needed, just take a couple of military ideas next to win war easily, i usually get first 2 defensive for the morale and then either quality or quantity, but with Korea i would go for quality since you don't really need a lot of soldiers.

It would be better if you conquer kamchatka and start clonoizeing alaska, so colonalism might apear az you! You can leave the phlipines last, first you must conquer malaka, burma ect before they get out of hand. So pick exploration ideas and I suggest: Alaska - California - Spice island - Burma - Australia - Philipines - New Zealand in this order
