To buy or not to buy third rome dlc?
The reviews seem rather negative with some people even calling it horse armor eu4, now I take what reviewrs and people on forums say with a pinch of salt as us gamers can be a little reactive and passioante when we feel developers are not delivering. But I do like the game and I usually buy the content dlc, so I am womdering is it worth it at the current price and if not is it worth buying in a possible summer sale?

Thanks
G

Do like every sensible person with every game release and DLC. Relax, wait. Soon enough there will be a sale, a lot better reviews and lots of gameplay videos. Then make up your own mind and if it seems like something that's worth it, get it, if not then wait.

Ohh and as a general rule, any reviews/complaints made within the first week of a game/dlc release that aren't "this is broken/doesn't work" can be safely ignored.

If you like playing Russia then buy it. It really makes a big difference playing as Russia and it really makes your fell like your a playing a unique nation more so than usual. I hope they do immersion packs for all the major nations.

It won't go on sale for a good 6 months to a year, at least for an actual sale that isn't a measly 10% off *after they raised the price more than 10%*, so don't count on that.

Even if you like playing as Muscovy/ Russia, don't get the DLC. It's not worth the price, and its not very influential for playing as a Russian nation.
Darkfireslide talks about this.

So $10+ to have a slightly different Russia? Seriously, no, you should not buy this garbage. There are so many games that companies are giving away (I just got Payday 2 free) and there are so many mods to existing games that provide far more content for free. Go play some different genres and you will never even think of wasting your money on overpriced PDX crap again.

It wont go on sale "on steam or paradox plaza" for a good 6months to a year.

If you scour the interwebz you can find it on sale other places before that.

@OP

It's a DLC that adds very little outside Russia, so if you do not play Russian nations, don't bother.

Over time, the DLCs have offered less content for more money. This is a DLC that impacts one nation of hundreds and it costs $10. It's a small mod. The people who bought this are mindless drones.

The base game costs 40 euros. This small dlc costs 10. Doesn't even have 1/16th of the content of the base game. The price in itself is completely ludicrous. I could of bought it for 5 euros but 10? hell no. Same for other dlc. I actually bought mandate of heaven on release for 20 euros but that's half the price of the base game and it's nowhere near the same amount of content.

I want to buy third rome because I know in terms of hours I'd put it in it would be worth it but in terms of content it's NOT. I'm putting my foot down. PDX can go frack themselves.
