Transfer trade power from vassals?

I have a big trade nation vassalised and used the option to transfer 100% of their power to me but isn't working for some reason. It just says the next month that they'll no longer transfer trade power. Is it bugged?

Its probably because their liberty desire is over 50%

Vassals dont transfer trade power.

It says you can make them divert 100% of their trade to you for 30% liberty desire.

they do now. They added divert trade to vassals when they removed protectorates (you can also steal provinces from them just like with Protectorates), which gives you 100% of their trade power at the cost of +30 Liberty Desire. And works regardless of their Liberty Desire or opinion, though it does seem to take a month or two to up date.

Mmm, perhaps in 1.2, havent played this versions.
They used to not transfer trade power, perhap it has changed.

Paradox combined protectorates with vassals in 1.2. I personally prefer them separate although the client states are based on napoleon’s client states and transferring trade power definitely fit into the continental system.

As far as feudal vassal I the king could bully his vassals into better trade deals.

Your subjects give you their tradepower, but only while you have a truce. It's a known bug:

Yeah it's quite annoying. I have client states across india, malacca, china etc. but can't get any trade power.
