you have to own over 20 provinces to unite Japan by force releasing all dymios that you can then kill like normal nations
Or
Annex all dymios and unify Japan
as Shogun Annexing seems the best choice for teh 100 all monarch points and you can leave the dymios to fight each other or use them to take on korea while you wait teh 10 years.
Ive united them twice now
once as Ashkagi - slow steady didnt get involved with the wars took siberia and half Korea and made a horde Vassel - under estimated Ming staying power when teh decleared on me.
once as Ouchi - current run - conquered southern half full occuppied any dymios of any strenght before taking on the emperor so they couldnt join. took kyoto full annex the oppcuied dymios ignoring AE after becoming emperor there was only 4 of my allies left as dymios so i axxex all 4 at once 10 years later.
Have just taken on Ming and korea and managed to take Bejing next wars for the Mandate but its not gonna be easy
there should be a decision you can take (bottom of the mission screen) mouse over and see what your missing
What does mean the last two objective?
Might be different for being a daimyo. you have to eat all other daimyos first.
