Poland Strategy

Hello EU IV forums, I've started a let's play as poland and would like some tips on how to play them. I'll link to my video so you can see my progress so far but basically I've taken Danzig, Kulm and the other one in between those, I'm the leader of Lithuania, Moldovia and Mazovia. I'm allied with Brandenberg and Bohemia.

Moscovy into Russia is perhaps your biggest threat but also the most preventable big threat.

True, I've got the west secure with allies in Bohemia and Brandenberg but the south and east are what I'm worried about.

What i am always doing as Poland is calling the Livonian Order in and vassalizing them in the first war against TO. They usually get a claim against Novgorod so fast expansion to Muscovy is possible.

Possible with AE and you can still get 2-3 TO provinces.

it's good to take from livonian a province bordering Novogrod, and then just warn Muscovy. Your problem is solved.

Idk about expanding into muscovy, the land is pretty baron and makes embracing institutions difficult. I'd see balancing the power of muscovy into russia with expansion into the HRE as a different and satisfying poland play through. I had just started a poland playthrough myself and my end game is to play the catholic religion with the counter reformation and defender of the faith. Expand into the HRE where ever possible hopefully dismantling the empire and maintaining the catholic faith as dominate religion in europe. I plan on taking diplomatic ideas and religious ideas to spread catholism and create powerful catholic vassels/allies in the russian area to make sure muscovy loses their ability to expand. Something else you could do is expand into the balkans relieve the ottomans of their great power responsiblities and then take important christian/muslim territory and enjoy the .50 yearly prestige and missionary per achievement and remove the sunni faith from the middle east and north africa. Or expand into russia and eliminate a potential power point, prestige, ducate farm. With their unique position in europe making allies is difficult for them.
