Try and look for countries that have rivaled Burgundy, they will surely support your independence. You should try the following nations:
-France
-Castile
-Denmark
-England (although if you choose France (which you definitely should) you should avoid England)
-Austria (!!!)
If you manage to get Austria on board you're very lucky, since you will not have to deal with Unlawful Territory once you start taking over the rest of the Netherlands.
Then it's just a case of declaring your war on Burgundy and letting your allies mop up the Burgundian armies. Some advice: try and claim BREDA first by building Spy Network in Burgundy and then claiming the province from Brabant. This will give you one province you need to form the Netherlands and is the only province you need from Brabant/Burgundy, which means you can ignore them for a large portion of your game (unless you feel the need to take over Burgundy).
Not exactly, the historical independence wars still happen because of their own events and scripts but the actual feature itself was implemented through later patches and therefore its DLC.
If you're solely aiming to form the Netherlands ASAP then taking Breda is the better choice.
Admin 10 isn't ASAP. Taking Antwerp, releasing Brabant/Flanders from their unions with Burgundy in the first war is the way to go. Brabant is a super easy target once you break their union.
Have you ever seen a holland>netherlands guide? They literally always take Antwerp in the independence war.
I barely look at guides, most of the time I find a way that works and stick with it. I'll maybe try the way you're presenting, it's probably better.
Yeah your strategy definitely works. And since breda is a required province I understand wanting to grab it early.
Antwerp is a coastal center of trade though and has higher development. It will dramatically increase your trade income (2 of your 3 provinces will be coastal centers of trade).
Doesn't really matter...it just puts you a little further ahead.
