Avignon Strategy?
How would I go about having a successful Avignon game? I started out as the Papal State and released and played as Avignon. As soon as I win independence, France invades.

Hmm, can't you get France to support you? That way you are allied afterwards.
Most logic would seem conquering 1 province of Provence and then joining the HRE if that is possible.

Being a province France will eventually if not already covet is not going to end up well. :)
