rebellious vassal
So, I've currently got three vassals, all have maxed relations in the 150 or above range...

two have nice, low liberty desires, the third, however, is ridiculously high, basically hovering around 100.

i mouse over to find out what's up, and the main difference is the "all vassals strength relative to overlord" modifier... which is at 40 for everyone else, but around 80 for him. can't find a reason why that one vassal would be so different when as far as i can tell that modifier should be the same for all of my vassals, given that it's a measure of their collective strength vs mine...

see if another country is supporting their independence. if that is happening the relative strength goes up since another country is helping them seek independence. A few ways to lower their liberty desire: fund the loyal subjects costs a few gold a month and reduces liberty desire by 20%, make sure you techs are better than subjects as that can increase or decrease liberty desire, and make sure you diplomatic reputation is good. Again the higher the better and will lower your vassels liberty desire.

most of that i had an idea about, but didn't think to check for anyone supporting independence... it's since balanced out so that was probably it. thanks~

Or you can just develop a few of it's cheapest to develop provinces (using monarch points)

Annex the two others. It´s innevitable - you can´t create super vassals while being a small or medium country. FFS, even as a HUGE Commonwealth I had trouble integrating a vassal Netherlands with all lower countries cultures, as it was a super rich, developed behemoth.

BTW watch those diplo points. Falling behind in diplo tech is also a death sentence for large vassal play.

that's what i did... i eventually discoverd it was france and the ottomans simultanously supporting their liberation... which lead to a moderately terrifying war when i had no manpower that i mostly only made it through due to powerful allies and being able to full-siege the vaassal ridiculously quickly.

the local alliance web is kinda terrifying right now.
