Revolutionary Republic vs. Empire

So I'm doing my first playthroughout with AoW and recently became a Revoluitonary Republic. I was wondering if becoming an Empire was worth the hassle and what the best way of becoming one would be.

Becoming a Rev.Empire is easy, just keep reelecting and keep the imperialist faction in power until you get to around 40 republican tradition, eventually there will be an event where your current ruler declared himself emperor.

The main advantage of empire vs republic is you get the estates system back, with the best setup there is. Also, you replace tolerance to heretics with national manpower. Personally though, I'd just stay republic. 6/6/6 rulers are just too good to pass up for me.

Republics are always better than monarchies honestly. Regency councils don't happen and in my case most of the time I never have negative stability or receive events that drop stability so reelecting rulers isn't so bad every once in a while.
