Lost all my save files

I played about an hour ago and closed the game, after saving. I just went back on and all of my saved files--autosave and save games--are gone. Nothing happened to my computer in that time. What can it be? Can I get them back?

Yep, me too. Going to try reverting to earlier patch.

the game was updated with a new patch today so all saves are of previous version.

when looking for saves you will need to show previous versions

how do i revert to an earlier patch? It won't allow me to play the old saves (but yes, I found them, thanks)

steam library-rightclick EU 4
go to properties
go to tab called BETA
now you can choose a version from the button below ( if u play on latest version it says " no betas" or something like that). click on this button and you can chose older versions

this is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, Same thing happened to me with my current ironman game. Paradox need to get their ♥♥♥♥ together.

When you go to your saved games menu, there is a checkbox saying "Show incompatible saved games". Make sure that is checked and try loading your game. Should still work, despite being "incompatible"

Bloody hell, not related to Steam at all its just the listing is wierd and 1.20 is in the MIDDLE of the list. I guess Paradox likes odd quirks :-P

Also just loaded a "incompatible" save and saved imediatel, as suggested by BjornB and it worked, but I backed up the save beforehand just in case.

They are listed correctly if you're looking at it from a maths point of view.

Ie.

1.9 is a much larger number than 1.10, hence why version ordering is a bit, let's say, iffy?

This is correct. We don't do the sorting.

Oh right yes ist "correct" to have a LIST of things not listed in the order and then insult my inteligense by claiming its the mathematical way.

Sure dont do the sorting, but dont claim it correct. Anyone an their mother will assume 1.21 baing the LATEST patch it to be listed at the bottom.

It was not a big deal untill some dude found the need to try and alternative fact it.

A little late to the party, but, you can also check if the paradox folder in your documents uses onedrive on windows or iCloud on apple. They both remove offline files sometimes, so you have to download them again.
