If you have it set as desired and teh AI doesnt want it they would transfer the occupation to you but if they also desire it they will keep it.
Anything you and your ally both want you should try to grab first failing that you can just let the enermy go unseige it and seige it back afterwards
It adds another tab to the Diplomacy menu called Diplomatic Feedback. In the tab of your own country you can define what provinces you're especially interested in. If you're going to the tab of another country you can set your attitude towards them there and see how much Trust they have to you and how many Favors you have with them (Favors are another feature of that DLC).
Are the favours and promising land the only way to call allies in offensive wars? For example with Cossacks the old modifiers like your ally relation with you , being in debt , distant war , his relation with your enemy , etc are gone? Can he refuse to join your war even if you use favours or promise him land?
