Some thoughts as a long time Advance Wars fan
I just felt like getting a few of my thoughts out before the games release. Overall you have an exceptionally good framework for a spiritual successor to Advance wars. As a whole, it's great but there are some glaring issues that I hope are addressed before release.

First the positives:
- The artwork is superb. The pixel art is closest to Black Hole Rising while being more detailed and expressive in animations.
- The added infantry types is a plus. Outside of a few niche COs and terrain types, Mechs were never worth the investment so that's a much appreciated addition. The same goes for the vehicles though I feel like some may be a bit superfluous. Regardless, the additional options are appreciated.
- Building multiple units from bases is great. It's something I'll always have in the back of my mind now when going back to AW. Additionally, being able to place units on 4 different tiles makes base locking with artillery less of an auto-win strategy.
- The new capture system as a whole is wonderful. It removes a lot of the tedious late-game capturing in the AW games. Losing all you infantry no longer means the game will be delayed by 4-5 more turns so you can transport new ones to the front lines. Also, being able to disable bases with vehicles adds much needed vulnerability to property. Additionally, parking all your units on friendly bases is no longer an abusable strategy and blocking your opponents bases isn't as simple as putting a transport copter on top of it.
- Certain units being able to "drive through" others was one of those things that I've always wanted in the AW games so I'm glad that's now realized.
- Overall, the readability is great. Almost everything from the color pallets to the models feel cohesive with the units all being distinct from each other at a glance.

What I hope gets fixed/added:
- There is no display options. Forced fullscreen breaks a number of things on my setup. I hope options like borderless or windowed as well as some FPS, resolution, and display settings get added before release.
- Being able to inspect units and terrain is something I was really wanting for. Not knowing the amount of ammo/fuel a unit has as well as a quick overview of tracks/wheels damage types, terrain defense and so on at a glance is such a nuisance. Seeing a new unit with no base available to double check it against turns a tactical game into a game of guesswork. Maybe there is a way to see these things but I tried every key I could and nothing showed up. A CO and mission overview/unit display in the menu would also be appreciated.
- The full release needs a tutorial. I picked up almost everything pretty quick being familiar with AW but I played through with a new player and he was completely lost up until the point we stopped playing. There are too many new mechanics thrown at the player without explanation.
- I have other small problems but this is getting too long.

Here's a couple Nitpicks instead:
- I can only speak for myself but the CO design felt like a clash from the cartoony game design. I might just be overly attached to the design of the original games but so be it. It's just my preference so I'm not holding it against the game.
- The music wasn't doing it for me. After an hour or so, I wanted to mute the audio. Again, just my preference.
- The settings menu is a different resolution from the game. It might just be a placeholder but I though it was pretty silly.

Overall, great work
