There’s a moment in this game that absolutely took my breath away, and I think if you’re able (or willing) to connect to this kind of story and the way it’s presented, I think you’ll have a similar experience. I’ve never so specifically walked a mile in someone’s shoes like this. Despelote is a good reminder of how important video games can be.

As an Ecuadorian born in Canada I've always felt not represented and always wanted a game either in Ecuadorian or a Ecuadorian main character, now it's finally a reality and I couldn't be happier. The game perfectly captures Ecuador in terms of environments and dialogue while the gameplay being amazing too. It's just so fun to kick a ball around and see peopkes reactions jajaja. My only 3 problems are i wish there was a chapter select, it's a bit short, and I wish there was a free roam mode but these don't detract from the game it's still a perfect heartwarming experience :]

Despelote gave me the unintended effect of being embarrassed about so much of what's being put out into the medium right now. It's so embarrassing dude. Despelote was so beautiful and human and transportive. A magic pill that takes you to another country in another time
