Remember that you have that glorious restart button so you can experiment with a fight a bit and just try things to see how they work with no downside, since restarts aren't penalized at all!
I totally get where you come from though, being a pure melee Itzae feels super weird to handle after Tizo, so the first couple fights including the Mimic can be a struggle because you need to relearn how to manage distances and actively working with interrupts. She's super fun once you get the hang of her though!
The worst move is always to end up without magia too close to an enemy, because then it's almost impossible to run away and you'll end up dying fast.
Also, use your items!
When I do finally win, I definitely want that...!
noted and already patched, uploading a fix soon!
Having given this a few more tries, I gotta say that I'm not really sure what you mean. With Itzae, I've only got three magia - it costs me two to move in closely for an interrupt, and the next enemy action is basically always an attack that my one remaining magia has no hope of enabling me to escape. There is essentially no way to get close enough to do anything without having either 0 or 1 magia remaining, neither of which enables me to move away.
I've also tried to use an item to give me a one-turn magia boost, but that only helps me the one time - and I need to live long enough to do 15 damage total.
Would also be interested to hear in this thread from anyone who beat this fight and exactly what they did! Thanks!
I don't think I did anything super tricky to beat it. I just had to use a couple healing items even on my best attempts. By that point I had picked up the cheapest Equipment +1 upgrade so I could carry both types of healing items at once.
I believe I also had the movement speed buff by that point? And used it in the fight as well? But I'm not sure.
Will - you can get magia upgrades in the skill tree which will definitely make things easier. You can also use the items that the mimic drops to do a lot of damage from range.
Thanks Max! I did end up managing to beat the fight through sheer luck - just got a fight where the RNG had it jumping around a lot instead of attacking me right after the single stun I could manage to get off.
Magia upgrades would've helped enormously, but Itzae only seems to have a single one in her skill tree - and that was way before I could get to it.
I do have it now, though the fights are definitely getting much more all over the place in terms of difficulty the further I go - either quite easy or impossibly hard. Thankfully, the ones I haven't been able to crack seem like they were optional. Hope you are all able to add some kind of assist mode!
Thanks for letting me know! This is basically what I think happened in case you want to reconsider the default position within that window when it's opened, I think that was my issue: https://imgur.com/a/lMMtCmX
Oh and I'm playing on controller, it just flipped to M/KB when I took the screenshot.
