Atzi's money sense?

I'm around the middle of act 2, when you first reach the monastery. Atzi, the donkey man, leaves after giving you 5 gold because you aren't a "good conversationalist". However, in order to buy a shovel to dig up the gold that Atzi can "sense" in the bandit camp you need to reach the monastery city first, where a seller charges you 15 gold for one, am I right? Is there a way to make Atzi stay with you, or is there another character that can "sense" the hidden gold?

No one else has money sense. Right now the only way to get the treasure is going to the monastery before talking to Atzi and buying a shovel, then go back to Atzi and pick him up.

Haha, on the leftmost side of the bandit camp there's a meteorite-looking rock with gold streaks. I don't even know how much money it is, I just hoped that it was a sign that you could please Atzi and keep him permanently in our party!

So, what am I potentially missing if I just let Atzi leave? I don't mind missing out on some money, but a party member seems worth keeping around.

Basically, I want to know how important it is to wait for a patch or if I can keep playing now.

I just reached Act III and you swap to a different protagonist so I get the feeling that he's just a recurring character that pops up in different places instead of an actual party member. Though I'll get back to you when I know for sure.

It seems there are various guest party members that you can temporarily keep according to your choices. So a revolving cast up till now.

Ive got shovel early act II for 5 gold by talking to some bandits on the road...

If you don't pick him up, run all the way to the monistary, buy the shovel, then run back to pick him up you can get it. Its a lil annoying but I did it hoping for an achievement.

Was this even fixed? I found no way of getting a shovel
