More "Fake" N64 games?
One of my favorite streamers Patstaresat described this game as "the best fake N64 game I've ever seen" and I knew I had to try it because the N64 was THE console I grew up with the most and I freaking loved it.

The short but sweet high quality experience of the amazing movement of the game and the graphics and atmosphere was awesome.

Anyone have more games made in the style that emulates the N64? and I don't mean n64 games that have been released on pc like turok or the doom 64 re release I've played all those I mean stuff that emulates the style.

Here are a few I can think of:

A collect-a-thon game with surprisingly good cartoon style animations and sound effects, with some solid platforming. Also nails the N64 aesthetic just about perfectly, even featuring 4/3 and CRT filters:

Very dreamy presentation with some fun levels and a good amount of exploration. May take a little bit of getting used to some of the gameplay mechanics, though:

Bite sized 3D platformer that is dirt cheap and features excellent movement that I'd love to see integrated into a full fledged game:

More PS1 than N64, but it may float your boat. It may still be marked early access, but the game is complete.

Absolutely. Highly Crash Bandicoot. That and Super Kiwi 64 were new to me, thanks everyone.

Psilosybil looks less like an homage and genuinely seems like something that might have come out on the PS1.

Thanks a ton everyone!
I think the aesthetic target may be more "PSX" than "N64", but I love Anodyne 2: Return to Dust. I wouldn't really call it a straight-up throwback, as it succeeds largely on its own merits, and isn't preoccupied with trying to emulate a particular thing or being mechanically deep.

Then again, Pseudoregalia isn't really about capturing much more than the aesthetic and jank of old 3D platformers. Still a very mechanically rich game.

Also yeah, Cavern of Dreams and Corn Kidz 64 are fantastic, while being both throwbacks and meaningfully unique experiences. They are also barely similar to each other or Pseudoregalia.

Corn Kidz 64 provides an alternative goat experience, with much more goat-like powers, like headbutting. When you think about it, it's kinda weird that Sybil has horns but never uses them.

I guess "Pseudo N64" would be a more accurate title to your post ^^
Thanks for sharing

Note that this is not your average game.

I know some of these are really well known but I didn't see them suggested and who knows, maybe they escaped your radar or will be new to somebody else! ❛ᴗ❛

A Hat in Time (+ Seal the Deal dlc for N64 filter)
● Yooka-Laylee (bad but has fun moments, maybe get in a bundle; has N64 filter)
"Kiwi 64" (45 min flash game I liked far better than it's sequel; on Itch.io now)
● Macbat 64
● Valkie 64
● Knight's Try
● Sephonie
● Cruelty Squad or HROT for shooters
● Wizard of the Board (on Itch.io)
● Telocation: Gemini (on Itch.io)

Not specifically N64-esc but pixelated-
Lil Gator Game (retro filter)
Smushi Comes Home (retro filters)
Toree 2D

Upcoming games-
● Toree Saturn
● The Big Catch
● Frogun Encore
● Double Shake
● Goodlands
● Sodastar 0

Sorry if I suggested any games that didn't fit the N64 aesthetic and confused it for a different retro console! There's also a ton of short indie horror games with N64 & PS1 aesthetics but I wasn't sure if you liked horror.

Also most of these are on my back log so idk if they're worth the price but I recommend the ones marked with stars. Hope these were helpful! :^)

One that I haven't seen posted here yet is Delta-Gal. It's a demo that hasn't been updated in about like 4 years but it's worth a try if you like Megaman Legends.

Dread Delusion! Found it!
