Incredibly frequent crashes
I have about 20 minutes of playtime logged but I haven't gotten past the room with that blue and purple crystal due to the game freezing up and crashing incredibly frequently.

Things that have caused a crash so far:
  • Stepping in water
  • Attacking thin air
  • Breaking a cracked wall
  • Attacking that egg thing
  • Being attacked by that egg thing
  • Touching that blue and purple crystal

My computer is rather old and not all that powerful but it is able to run much more intensive games just fine. If anyone could share some tips for improving the game's performance it would be greatly appreciated.

there is a mod on the official discord that disables VFX so it is easier to run.

hey! if the mod doesnt work or is just annoying for a first playthrough, you can try going to the properties of pseudoregalia.exe and changing the compatibility mode to windows 8 or 7 under compatibility. this seemed to make my game run pretty stable after everything else didnt work!

this was exactly my problem haha

Hello there! As i mamaged to find out, some of the game VFX makes the game crash, in most cases on Intel graphics chips: if you have Intel HD/UHD graphics instead of normal graphics card, most likely you can't play this game without VFX disable mod. I tried one from the dev discord server, but now i can't see upgrades and some of enemyes attaks.
So i would recomend to wait until Rittz fix this issue and remind them about it from time to time!

I think it’s an issue with UE5, not this game specifically. And if so, it’s unlikely it will get fixed in a game patch.

I thought the game was made with UE4

I believe it’s made with UE 5.1 specifically.

been looking around for potential fixes and the only things thats worked for me was using the potato mod. ill link it here for anyone who doesnt wanna join the discord

its pretty unfortunate how i have to essentially disable all particle and VFX in order to play without crashing (which causes a bunch of gameplay issues that i personally just dont want to deal with,) and from what ive seen this is an issue with unreal engine and how it handles intel graphics so theres very little chance this will get patched or fixed.

potato mod installed and doesn't work on time trial.

a new version of the Potato Pak mod, which increases playability on Intel Integrated Graphics, got made.

This one now should work on Time Trials and overall keep the game more playable compared to the prior one.
