Be Advised- NO VOIP!
Just learned no VOIP in game for us PC players...I'm surpised a tactical shooter like this wouldn't have VOIP so you can get tactical with other players you may join with. Not sure if everyone new this so be advised.

I think most of us are asking just that. At least a possibility that VOIP be integrated post-launch. Most of us here understand the solutions presented before but do not believe to be real solutions to the "problem." It just sounds like someone saying: This game doesn't come with its soundtrack built in, but you can always play the soundtrack using Windows Media player, VLC, Itunes... (obviously an exaggeration)

This puts a damper on things, certainly. I don't think I know of anyone on my friends list who wants this game and not being able to voice it up with randoms in a game like this kinda sucks.

That said, the stickied group looks like a really good option and I plan on using it once I get this game.

The problem I see it is that if this game has an in-built server browser, then people will connect to random games and thus random people. At that stage it would be very complicated organising a method for all members in that server to use voice chat. If voice-chat was inbuilt into the game then it would be very easy to pick up games with randoms and have decent teamwork going without the extra hassle.

Ah damnit that sucks! I was so looking forward to getting tactical with randoms. :(

I was disappointed by no VOIP because I don't have a crew that I play with but regardless I'm pumped for this game.

Join the day 1 players list and group. Add some friends from there. Go to the official forums and put your name in the pot here: http://www.serellan.com/forums/index.php?/topic/2737-whats-your-steam-name-xbl-psn-id/

There are plenty of people to play with. There are plenty of ways to get groups together. Instead of complaining about a feature that's not going to change before launch, let's come up with workable solutions. If you've got enough friends on to get a full room going you don't have to worry about how you're going to communicate with randoms.

yeah needs VOIP, agree that if you are clan based no issues using TeamSpeak whatever. but for us randoms trying to group up, that's pretty annoying. Skype is crap might as well be facebook

I think this is a bummer. The game is so communication intensive and not having ingame voip will make it harder for people to easily join a game online and play with strangers. I know I can use mumble or the like, but you must agree that having to find someones TS server or setting up other third party communication is time consuming and sometimes a hassle.

Being a game focused on teamplay and tactics it would make a lot of sense to ship the game with ingame VOIP. At least patch it in at a later stage. Also having radio noise and sounds a la ACRE for Arma 2/3 would add a lot to the immersion.

If you are going to release on consoles at some point you will HAVE to implement it? No?

THIS!
I miss the old Rainbow Six days but no VOIP = no buy for me, sorry devs!

Its a licensing issue is my guess. VOIP isn't cheap. Use mumble or TS or Vent. You enjoyed R6 and SWAT back in the day, without VOIP, you can enjoy this too, I'm sure. Almost all tactical games, even the ones that DO have VOIP still end up running TS or Vent servers. They are just the standard for PC game communication, you might as well get used to it.
I don't see why people are making such a huge fuss over this. Sure, VOIP makes the game more easier to play with randoms and saves you time trying to get set up with a Teamspeak server or any other software you use but honestly? People are making a fuss whilst others are giving them solutions. I'm pretty sure moaning about it won't force the game developers to include VOIP. Prehaps if you actually waited for a while and let the game get its feet on the ground first THEN asked for VOIP the game developers may feel more obliged to do so.

No one is complaining about the solutions, people know how to use them. VOIP just seems like a standard feature for a tactical game in 2013, so the complainers are more in a state of shock if anything. If cost is an issue, the developers probably should have gone the early access route to gain additional funds while implementing features and fixing bugs. Last thing a small developer needs is a rough launch.

And people saying get used to it or 3rd party VOIP is standard, that is the real problem in this thread.

If no one says anything, Serellan will not know that people are interested in that. I don't care personally, but if they see the interest, they might integrate it eventually.

Even in games with ingame VOIP I complelty ignore this feature. Either because it is unnecessary or because I use TeamSpeak instead. I can understand why people would like an Ingame VOIP but there are two possibilites for the difficutly of this game:

It is easy enough to be done without VOIP like the old rainbow six, or it so hard that you are more or less dependant on a regular team where SteamVOIP or other ThirdParty software is easy at hand.

Developers, it's a PRIORITY to have a voice chat ingame!!
Not having it may ruin the gameplay experience for the ones who are playing for its first time, since you feel "excluded" if you play with a group that plays through TS.

I believe that TS is used for tactical teams, and a voice chat would be nice for casual players.. just my opinion.

I'd completely prefer to join a game and just press a key to talk rather than contacting through steam everyone in order to start playing in a decent way..

How was it possible to play this exact kind of genre without VOIP in the old days? I simply invite people to TS if the seem mature and skillfull, no big deal.
