Watch DX videos on Youtube and you'll see the difference is big.
I too have Pacman Championship Edition on PSP, and I also play it on PPSSPP (emulator).

Yes, the original Championship Edition, which I own the Xbox 360 Edition, plays like standard Pac-Man as far as the Ghost's are concerned:

- The original Championship Edition Ghosts all chase you around the maze in different patterns like previous 2D Pac-Man games.

- The Championship DX+ Edition Ghosts, lay sleeping around the Maze until you pass them, and then they give chase, or rather, follow you around the maze in a big conga line. There are also more ghosts per maze and you can have around 30+ chasing you at the same time.

This new ghost mechanic in DX may not seem like much on the surface, but it really changes the whole way a Pac-Man game plays.
