They are using tools to acheve the score, it was really bad in Audiosurf. In Audiosurf there were people that played 2 seconds and had a score above 10 million points. I think it's a waste for people to use tools to get a high score, there are some of us that really want to see how we stack up to the rest of the world.

thanks for replying ^^ yea youre right its better to play the score yourself and not hacking or using trainers nor tools

It's called 'cheating'. It's the one reason why I won't buy the game. I don't want to have to compare scores with someone who got to the top by simply cheating their way through it.

Even with the cheats you can still get up to S ranking (not sure if there's ranks above S), so it's not too bad. S is supposedly in the top 2% of players, so there can't be too large a proportion of cheaters on the boards.
And this is a good thing? I don't think so, it's still the principal of the thing.
I'd rather be playing an honest game against an honest player - even if it is only by comparing scores - than somebody who gets to where they get to by cheating. It's pointless and doesn't prove anything worth proving.

Don't the dev's look into this and take those kinda scores off?
I'm beginning to think they don't.

You would think they would..

ya it seems that way, but to be fair, i just bought the game myself today and cant really say anything about that, because i havnt seen those scores myself, i am just enjoying the game for what it is, a different take on a classic game and pretty fun game at that,
Good for you dude, but for me personally, it knackers the whole experience in it's entirety when some spotty-faced little douchenozzle cheats his noob self to the top because his lazy ass can't be bothered to play an honest game. I see enough of that crap going on in Warface. Yes it is a good game, I like the modern aesthetics it does look nice and fresh, but cheating makes the game look like ♥♥♥♥ in all fairness. You will see the scores, they're right at the top of the Spiral course on the 10 minute score attack, you won't be able to miss them. It's only a handful of players, or 'it's a great game' is not the winning argument for me, and it wouldn't compel me to spend my money on it either. Cheating is still cheating and it borks it outright for me.

The top like 100 or so are cheaters, but there's also legitimate players up there as well. While cheaters make it less fun, I still enjoy challenging myself to see how high I can get and what is the top legitimate score.

I doubt they'll clean up the boards unless we beg and complain a lot. But it can quite easibly be duped so it's not really worth the effort.

Take a look at every Steam game with a highscore list.

I have yet to find one that's not cheated.

And not only that, it's the blatant obvious way it is done - The cheaters apparently don't care, because there seems to be no danger involved of getting banned (even "just" community banned) for doing this.

Or maybe not enough people report those most obvious ones - But then they would just be less obvious; In games where very skilled players can reach insane scores, it's not easy to judge what can and can not be reached.

Even some devs have admitted they can't know, exactly - So a banwave would likely catch some legit scores, as well (forgot the game forum I read this comment in).

But I agree, at least, that the most obvious ones (like someone said above, like 2 secs, 10 million score) should be at least temp banned as a warning - In ALL Steam games with such a feature (Highscore list, I mean, ofc)

As it is, most highscore tables on Steam are useless, sadly.

I just don't understand why the hell the devs didn't bother in adding some kind of VAC system...

yea all games should use VAC to force people to pay for private cheats that cost to much,
i wants cheats to cost money to turn people away which is what VAC does, VAC detects free public cheats but more difficult to detect payed cheats, so because of that i want demand for private cheats to become so high that its unaffordable as in the price of a game then no one would buy the cheat because its too expensive. so i want VAC in all games to at least stop free cheats.

As I already said in my thread. The main selling point for this game is competition on the high score list (as for the old arcade machine as well - well apart from reaching the kill screen - if there is one :-D). The game is great and such, but it would be half the game without competition. So the devs should look into it. at least if they want to stay profitable one this game.
