It is, but you are old enough to make your own decisions.
But you also have to accept the consequences for when you are wrong, which you truly are. Read the last sticky on the first page of the forum, it has "Name-shaming" in its title.
Read the part about how it will not be tolerated on the Steam forums by the moderators. People get banned from the forums for name-shaming, bud.
Look, I get that you are angry and that you have to make a new character, but do you really want to push this? I'm not a mod, obviously, and all I'm suggesting is that you delete the thread for your own sake. But do what you will.
My even can't even.
If the moderators come to this post and ban me for doing something that isnt listed officially by steam but decide to do nothing about someone who is backseat moderating which is listed than these moderators need to be sorted out by steam.
I don't decide policy nor do I enforce it. I also am not reporting you for name-shaming and nor am I spouting "GIT GUD SCR*B!" all over this thread. All my intent was to give a guy a bit of advice before he let himself act the a** and get himself in trouble just because he couldn't deal with his non-problems like an adult.
So, in short: it sucks that happened to you, welcome to Dark Souls 2, be careful who you invite next time, don't name-shame just because your feelings got hurt, and don't tempt the mods to prove you wrong on simple principle.
Have a nice evening.
It is also there to prevent "Report ******* he is a hacker" threads which if there was no moderation, would be everywhere and clog the board up
Reporting him will get him banned from the discussion board, not the game by the way
1) Moderators here have the right to make up rules, so you can get banned from this forum by going against the rules set here.
2) Posting steam id isn't against the rules, but name shaming is. I believe you, but there is no evidence he is a hacker.
3)
"Edit: For those who try to claim it isn't in the rules and guidelines. It's not listed but it's a standard rule on this community and you can ask any Moderator on the Volunteer Moderator team and you'll be told the same thing. Name and shame is not allowed anywhere on this forum."
That means: name and shame isn't listed because of it's nature it breaks other rules. No need to list here, because it's against the rules anyway.
I suggest you remove this thread for your own sake. Hackers can get revenge, you can get banned, what else do you want? You only dig your own grave with this thread. But it's just a friendly advice. You do what you want.

Naming and shaming = Defaming. The forum rules are a subset of those rules, the link of which is on the damned page with the forum rules. :p
