What build is your favorite to play as in DS2 (PvE and PvP)?

I've made several characters in DS2, all different builds and play styles.

My favorite was my "Natsu" build, Pyromancer with Vanquishers Seal and light armor (But later added a Fire Infused Greathammer to the mix).

My least fun type of builds is any type of Caster (Be it Magic or Hexes) or "Tryhard" builds. Boring.

What is your favorite build to play as?

My most recent character is a hexer with bone king armor/legs, lion mage cuffs, hexer's hood (debating to exhange this for the Warlock Skull,) and power stanced silverblack sickles dark infused for melees

Most people never see sickles in pvp and don't expect you to be able to hit through shields, its fairly epic. And at +10 with dark infusion and dark weapon my mainhand one can hit pretty hard honestly

Or the Alonne Samurai build. High hp, high stamina, high adp, high dex

Alonne set, but king's gloves
rh: Bewitched Alonne Sword, Alonne Greatbow
lh: Darkdrift
for pve the durability ring is a must.

Pretty fun to open a pvp match with a greatbow shot :D

Greatbows are more fun to use in Invasions, especialy somewhere with a narrow bridge. >:3

I mostly only NG pvp because I'm not dealing with 99% of fights being parry fests or backstab fishing. I get a lot of people who guard instead of rolling and its good on them.

The way it shines though is against people who poke with spears or rapier, the shield pierce counts as an actual hit so it can cause stunlock. Power stance power attack will shed a shielded opponent, they will also be stunned so you can get another quick basic attack on them.

But no, I use the sickle because they go with my build. 75% of the weapons I use are because I like the looks or moveset, not because they're "top tier" or whatever. Sickles with dark weapon will still hit for between 250-400 with the basic attack, not counting power stanced attacks. A bit less for people with GMB but that's to be expected. I switch to raw black dragon weapons in that situation anyway, that way I don't sacrifice potential AR because they have no scaling.

I used to love my RH-Rapier / LH-Pyro flame. See to many rapiers now and decided to switch it up for the Drakeblood Greatsword. I like this weapon.

I use my shield quite a bit. I generally don't worry about guard breaking as I don't hold it up at all times like some havel scrubs do, begging to be guard broken. Although sometimes you can bait people into trying to guard break as the animation has a very obvious start up.
But generally depends on the situation for me and on the weapon my oppnent is using.

PVE: Large and Great clubs. Strength and vitality build. Vengarl's armor. You can flatten most enemies (except in the Sunken King DLC where the enemies have ridiculous poise).
