Sometimes the developers get locked into a contract where they can't release the games on different platforms becasue companies like Microsoft think if they have the exclusive title, people will buy their system.
Hang in there. From knows that the PC player base is huge. There will be a petition at some point asking From to bring the game to PC. It may take a year, but i'm sure it's going to happen at some point.
if that would be the case, DeS would already hit the PC market or at least we would have heard some rumors by now, DaS series sells good on PC and more and more publishers are releasing old console exclusives on PC, if we haven't heard nothing that's because they don't want to do it...when i said that "i hope to see sony change its mind", i don't say it with conviction...sure, everything is possible in this world but let's just say i don't wanna build false hopes in me
DeS was co-developed with SCE Japan studio, who only make PS titles. Of course Bloodborne was also paid for entirely by Sony, so it's unlikely to be released on the PC (though they do actively release a bunch of PC games it's unlikely theyd do so on a platform seller which would lose them money).
Anyway the Souls series is mainly played on the PS3 platform where it has at least over twice as many people as PC, which is even smaller than the 360 userbase.
Dark Souls
- Shields
Bloodborne
I'm sure SONY would make more money in sales of the game on PC than how many people are going to go out and buy a PS4 just to play this.
i would add "unfortunately" to your sentence :)
allow me to disagree on that, given that i don't know the console community situation but if you can purchase DaS only from the used market, then the PC community, most probably, it's ten times bigger tnx to steam and its periodic sales
in case you can purchase DaS digitally even on consoles, then i would like to know how the console fanbase it's bigger, since the pc fanbase has requested the game to be released on pc so i imagine that a lot of people bought it, keep playing to this day and every sales is a chance to improve this fanbase...and now it's even migrating to steam...
even if you can purchase the game digitally on consoles, they don't have anywhere near the amount of sales and price cuts we have here...so, really, i'm curious :) and i'm not asking it in an inflamatory way
good luck with that...i struggle in playing snake eater on my rig, a PS3 emulator it's being developed (at least that's what i've heard, heven't tested) but it's still far from finished after nearly ten years from the platform relase...my sons will play BB on a PS4 emu...maybe
You can't really disagree on that, you'd just be statistically completely wrong. :p
The souls series started on Playstation, with Demon's, and thats where the PvP started then naturally moved onto DS1 then onto DS2. Oh and the the PC petition was signed by 10x more people than have ever played PC DS1 at it at peak. Play on PS3 and you see way more players compared to PC (which now has a normal player level of around 4500 and less than 1000 for DS1). The used market comes into it in a small way but to play it online you need either a digital copy or a full copy of the game, even if they all sold their copies, people bought them up and continued playing it.
There's sales on all platforms (and you can buy all three digitally on PSN and i'm sure you can get the others on Live watever). To be honest the Halloween sale on PSN was a bazillion times better than Steam's, and had much better games in it (and lower prices). Anyway Steam isn't the best example, sales have gotten increasingly terrible (the summer sale was awful) and Steam has usually the highest prices on the PC plaform (AC4 was more expensive on Steam than on PSN during boths sales :p).
There isnt even a fully stable Sega Saturn emulator and that console was from 1995. Even some SNES games dont run properly on some emulators
I'll take the time to appreciate the huge amount of PC exclusives that console players will never ever get to play lest they convert.
Well then. Folks, perhaps you should invest in a PS4. If Demon souls hasn't made it to PC, I'm not sure this one would.
Even "official" emulators like the PS1 emulation on the PS3 don't work properly. So some guys doing it for free in their spare time are likely never going to get things right. :D
Parodius works and thats all I care about! :o
I love that game :D
Just look at the mess DaS1 for pc was. That is probably why we will never see DeS on PC, it just takes too much to resources to get a decent port. It's either that, or create a new game that will make much more money.
ok, i will not argue about the console fanbase cause, as i've said i'm not into them...the halloween sale could have been good as you want on PSN, but usually pc games have lower starting price, even if summer sale gets worst, steam has daily, midweek, weekend and weeklong sales normally...without counting publisher sales, summer, christmas and halloween sales and various humble bundles of sort...also steam is not the only client, if you like AC you should look at uplay for example...so, i'm not agree about the console sales being better, imho pc is still the best place to buy games at a cheaper price
