DARK SOULS™ II

DARK SOULS™ II

Finished bloodborne on ng+ - should I upgrade ds2?
And am considering upgrading my souls game now (am at ng+++ in ds2, and have all the ). Are there new wepons? Besides that 1 extra boss and the npc, is there really something new for me here?

Now for a bit of Bloodborne rant (read on if your intrested) :D

I have to be honest, people bash DS2 all the time, but I have to say, I still perfer DS2 over bloodborne. And don't get me wrong, bloodborne is a GREAT game, and I had a lot of fun with it but there were some things i did not like in bloodborne:

1- No equipment load. This may sound good at first at first, but thing about it. At high level pvp, it's just a matter of time before every single person will be using the same armour combination. Since you can simply equip any armour regardless of build, someone will eventually say "this is the best combination of armor in the game". And then everyone will use it. And that's bad.

2- Very few weapons. It's true they transform and mostly are awesome, but really, there are like 9 main wepons in the entire game. No boss weapons (and no boss armor sets). The only kills that make you able to get new sets and weapons are mostly npc "invaders".

3- The general feel and story of the game didn't resonate that much with me. I prefer the dark, depressing tone of dark souls.

4- Farming an area? After you beat all the enemies you'r farming you have to go to the checkpoint and use it to TELEPORT BACK to the main hub, and then come back. There is no resting/respawning at checkpoins. this may seem trivial until you find out bloodborne can have up to 40 seconds load time when teleporting. No such thing as bonfire ascetic.

5- People say DS2 is easy, and Bloodborne is much harder. I disagree. They are simply diferent. The fact that you can regain your HP by hitting back for the next 3 seconds after you take damage makes it not that hard. You just have to adjust your playstyle with this in mind. Some bosses in bloodborne are hard but some (most?) are easy. Without giving away any spoiler, lets just say there is a major boss in the upper cathedral that I killed on the first try without taking any damage AT ALL. The only hard times I've had during the game was fighting some of the npc "invaders".

6- You can't respec. Some fans defend this idea. I don't. I don't enjoy having to beat the game on ng a lot of times just to find out that weapon/build is not that good at all.

Things I loved in bloodborne:

1- Every weapon (of the few available) feels epic. You know how in DS2 they have some weapons with special cool abilities like for example the alonne sword? They are all like that in Bloodborne. A rapier that transforms into a pistol, a sword that turns into a hammer, a brand new, very cool looking, Chaos blade, and so on. You can also put runes on your weapon to make it more unique.

2- The game looks gorgeous, and the gameplay is great.

3- Bosses fights are well designed and they look great.

4- Most choices have irreversible consequences (regarding npc's).

5- No havel buttface players.

6- No magic spamming.

7- No soul memory.

8- Dunegons with unique bosses. Some of them randomly generated. I won't go into much detail here but it's great.

Much more could be said but this is too long already

Buy a vodka bottle, drink it, smash it to a wall then open a window and scream "imma put bread in da oven" 3 times. Then upgrade ds2, or else...
You perfer the dark despressing tone of Dark Souls?

Yeah I was getting tired of all the puppies and unicorns in Bloodborne.

I mean honestly the game is just way too colorful and everyone is so happy and blah blah blah /endsarcasm

Dude maybe you should learn how to type first...
1, no cause every set give diffrent stats some sets are op on arcane some on lighting some on physical some on poison, no1 will use same set, try to use physical set vs pure elemental user with fire or arcane rune I wish you luck

2. yes and no how some1 prefer, ds2 have lot of weapons and no1 cares about them expect meta weapons like katanas rapiers long swords some times great sword or lances its even less weapons than bloodborne if you look like this, in bloodborne every weapon is usefull and balanced

3.sry what ? bloodborne is not dark with all this beats around you rly ?

4. at least you can kill mobs 100 times and still farm they don't despawn -.-, also about farm its like demon souls your estus flasks don't respawn when you die you have to farm them again

5. bloodborne is harder what ever you say, in ds2 I had problem only with smelter, pursurer. fume knight and sir aloone, even ancient dragon was easy for me I had ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fire defs on me lol rest bosses gone at 1st or 2nd try, in bloodborne I needed at least 5-8 trys to allmost every boss

6. that why bloodborne is harder ^^,

only what piss me off its random parry in pvp with 0 risk cause parry is ranged now -.- and what I like its Chalice dungeons rly cool for coop (random dungeons)

and they can still spam with guns so don't see diffrence maybe not that big dmg if you don't have blood build but still can parry you for 3/4 hp like I said again parry is GAY save and its RANGED NOW
