Old Witch Soul not dropping when burning bonfire ascetic?

Did i miss something? I burned a bonfire ascetic in Saltfort after i have beaten the lost sinner. Then i redid the fight and got another Soul of the Lost Sinner but not the Old Witch Soul. The intensity is 2. Did they change something? Previously i could always get the soul by burning a bonfire ascetic. Should i try again by burning another one?

Also, i didn't consume it or trade it for the chaos blade/flame weapon.

I always thought you had to be NG+ or above to get those souls. Was under the impression that Ascetics didn't matter.

That's weird, just last week I burned an ascetic for the Old Witch Soul, and it dropped. Try burning another if you can spare it.

The Saltfort is the only bonfire in Sinner's Rise.

Alright, now it dropped. This was weird as hell. Have to do another run to get two of them.

I ascetic'd once at NG (the bonfire went from intensity 1 to intensity 2) and got it a few days ago. Looks like some bug or you overlooked something.
