Imbue fume ultra greatsword!
So i just got the fume ultra greatsword, and its my backup/riposte weapon. with that in mind i got it too +5 and im wondering what to imbue it with. i have 55 faith and using a lightning heide knight sword as my main weapon. Should i leave it unimbued, make it raw, or go lightning?

I mainly use it for ripostes (if that affects the answer)

i'm not sure how elemental damage affects riposte damage, but i would assume it varies on a player-by-player basis how much damage it would do because some people stack more elemental defense than they do physical and vice versa. it's usually a bad idea to infuse weapons that benefit so much from STR, especially seeing as you need 40STR/30DEX to wield the Fume UGS and that's a big damage bonus already, so i'd keep it uninfused, but feel free to test on different mobs and tell us the results

doesnt really matter if infused or not, just depends on your stats. e.g. if you got high pyro attack bonus, you can have higher damage with it when infusing it with fire.

of course, that is only possible with higher levels (300+ ?), since you won't be having that much points to distribute before that.

that being said, the damage output will depend very much on the targets' resistances/defenses. riposte does take them into account. always fun to see them dark infusing idiots make like 1/10th of your health with backstabs.

btw, only thing heavy weapons are really good for is to stagger opponents, if that is possible. fast swinging weapons can do more damage over the same amount of time and leave you room for defensive maneuvers.

You'll kill the almighty Fume UGS by infusing it.

Infusing a weapon with 'S' rate for Strenght? Not a good idea. In almost all situations (If not all) your damage will decrease by infusing it.
Don't infuse it. Split damage sucks for crits
