thanks for proving the " mlg nerds " part of my post.
I wasn't talking about PVP and how the "true mlg cool kids" use wierd combinations of items to feel different.
the game is awesome , and it's not that big of a deal.
I just wish i would have never found that ♥♥♥♥ , because it totally ruined it. from level 20 to 140 I look the same.
Also you realize "mlg pros" would just use the top of the line stuff. They don't do fashion souls.
Longer rolls and faster stamina regen beats armor rating anytime. I never play over 30% equip load.
And you know what? I did a test.
A weapon with 600 physical damage fully upgraded STILL dealt at least 400 damage to a fully armored up havel. Why? because of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and stupid logistics of this game.
Parry is OP. Back stab is BS. Counter damage is a ♥♥♥♥♥. And all that armor is just dead weight.
Since this game encourages evading so much, the only purpose left for the *armor* is fashion.
Listen dudes , I started playing this game a complete noob.
im talking about the legit first timer playthrough most dudes would run.
most dudes won't find a freaking talking head in a rubble of bones.
most dudes won't realise you can spend 15k on a merchant to get better gear.
let's be honest here.
also I realised pretty quickly that playing without a shield is suicide , and dodging without spending points in adaptability is insanely difficult and not worth it because the window is so freaking small if you can just stand there with a huge shield taking the hits , even if you are slow as hell.
so no , being lightwieght , or being fast even doesn't make the game any easier for the noob , it makes it harder.
I reached the dragon area with those huge guys who are kinda like the guys in hide's tower but on crack , the ones who use the mace swing it so fast like it's a freakin dagger , you cant dodge that crap , they just unleash 4 swing combo's one after the next like psychopaths.
so dying 1000 times to learn all the enemies moves so you know the perfect roll timing is not called "easier game" bra , come on
also you dudes kinda miss the point , most noob's on thier first or second run won't realise that armor values are bullcrap , they would just naturally use the best value armor they can find, because the game has a system that encourages you to use it. its only bloody natural to not use that cool sword you find because it does less damage , its natural because this game is kinda like an RPG.
finding the best value armor in the game after 3 hours ruines it for us noobs who treat the game as it is , an rpg. I mean the system is so complex and has so many values it's natural to assume the numbers mean something,.
MOD is attack swing modifier. Different attacks have different modifier along with 2H
By 100 Agility you can pretty much roll THROUGH everything, it's ridiculous.
The Dranglic armor is a noob armor, there are better and especially if you are a veteran that have learnt to value speed. The only part of that set I normally use is the shield until I get a better one.
they just slam the ground you land on. one little mistake and you are toast because you also probably have crap poise and the first hit stuns you and the followup hit murders you.
being a tank with a huge tower shield is much easier.
that's what im saying , I AM A NOOB and i got tricked into using that armor for 95% of the game , like most other noobs im sure. just feels cheap and stuipid.
can we all agree that NOT finding that kind of armor so early on would be better ?
the guy who decided it was a good idea is a bloody idiot.
So? Why should I care if you are not looking at the items you get. I am pretty sure you got the Vengarl set but in worst case you forgot the helmet. Nothing is forcing you to use the armor you know, and the bosses are pretty easy when you learnt how to roll and block. My record to get to dranglic castle is on SL 28 so saying you are forced to pick good defence is just plain wrong. I used the knight set for most of that time.
